I’d like to introduce you to my new electric skein-winder. Yes, all this time I’ve been hand-winding…. my productivity is about to go up, time spent will be less, and my chiropractor will be sad that there are less problems with my shoulder and thus less time spent in his office.
This is one of the things I’ve been talking about as far as changing the way I do things at HaldeCraft goes. I want to bring in some new yarns but I just can’t justify producing, say, five new bases in all my colors, when I’m winding things by hand. I’ve looked over my colors and don’t want to get rid of too much more, but just can’t seem to figure out where the time is going to come from to wind all the new things up — winding being the most time-consuming part. Before the new skein-winder, it’s taken me between 60-90 minutes to wind ten skeins, and I can really only wind ten per day before my shoulder revolts. NOT ANYMORE! The day I got this I wound about 20 skeins in less than an hour.
I should have gotten one of these a LONG time ago!
